DEPTH THERAPY & PSYCHOTHERAPY
Growth starts from within
Depth therapy is not about treating only the symptoms of a problem. It’s about looking deeply into the problem and understanding its root causes. In therapy, we examine all of the underlying factors. We work with both the conscious and unconscious mind: dreams, fantasies, thoughts, emotions, somatic manifestations.
Depth therapy allows us to interact with the innermost parts of the Self. This approach is powerful and there is strong research to show that it may result in profound and lasting change. I am trained in the depth therapy approach and am also completing a 7-year postgraduate qualification as a Jungian psychoanalyst.
GROW & FLOURISH
Therapy is about personal growth, transformation, and exploration of the Self. It’s a powerful tool for self-care and self-improvement. You are hard-wired for healing and wholeness - even if you don't always feel it.
In therapy, we carefully observe your life from every possible angle to help you understand your Self. We look at your inner world and your outer world, your consciousness and your unconsciousness.
We then work to remove obstacles that prevent you from fully expressing that Self. This is a crucial step in creating a deeply fulfilling life.
VALIDATE & CONNECT WITH YOUR 'SELF'
As humans, we are often questioning ourselves.
We think, “I can’t do this,” and, “I don’t want to do that,” or, “Being me doesn’t work.”We recognise that something is not right; that something is profoundly “wrong” and always has been.
In psychotherapy, we sit with this feeling of “wrong”. We sit with discouragement and defeat, anguish and hopelessness. As we sit with those feelings, we unravel their layers. Our sessions become a space to learn what is inherently right. We hold hope. We see possibility and potential. We welcome who we are becoming.
HEAL FROM TRAUMA
Whatever the cause, traumatic events or experiences can have a deep and overwhelming impact on almost every area of your life. Trauma can affect emotions, behaviour, thoughts, and relationships in ways that we find difficult or impossible to navigate on our own.
In trauma-informed therapy, I use a holistic approach to understand the role that trauma may be playing in your life. I focus not only on the behaviours triggered by trauma, but on the underlying causes for that behaviour.
As we work through this, we can begin repair work at the deepest level to promote genuine healing and change.
SUSTAINABLE, LASTING, HEALING
In a world full of quick-fixes and instant remedies, it’s important to know that growth doesn’t happen overnight. Deep, lasting growth is a process.
There are no shortcuts for inner work. Doing the work is the shortcut to psychological wellbeing.
I encourage my clients to attend sessions weekly or, at minimum, fortnightly. Regular sessions promote consistency and a structure that allows you to relax, let down your guard, and access deeper and more vulnerable parts of yourself.
Developing insight and personal awareness is the key to living a full and fulfilling life.
